Aid Projects in Namibia

Many children in Namibia live in poverty, many of those children are orphans of AIDS victims and live with relatives or on the streets. They all have a mutual fate: not being able to be cared for by their families or anybody.

To live in poverty means for the children to live in hunger, to have insufficient clothing (the winters in Namibia can be very cold) and without any medical attention. Lots of the children suffer from Tuberculosis. Many have to live without connections to electricity or water supply, and have no sanitary facilities.

The school attendance in Namibia is compulsory, but in many cases the families cannot afford to pay for the school fees, the children are found begging in the streets instead. The families are hindered from sending their children to school because of school fees, but also the mandatory school uniforms and the costs for school material needed.

namibiakids e.V. was founded to ensure the children’s education and to support them: the association is paying the school fees, for the school uniforms and materials needed as well as for the children‘s lunch. Highest priority by the association is given to the needs of the children, whereby national and local conditions and structures are always taken into account. namibiakids e.V. is working independent of political, religious, racial, ideological or gender specific differences. The constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany and its liberal-democratic constitutional order are as well as the basic and human rights stated within obligatory for nambibiakids e.V..
